Built and run by me

The Kit

I built my own. Every audit I run comes from software I wrote and maintain here in Telford.

The code is mine. The data comes from Google's own sources, Search Console, Analytics and Merchant Centre, and from the handful of APIs I pay for, so what gets measured and how is my decision rather than a vendor's. It replaces the stack a small agency would normally rent: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, BrightLocal and Screaming Frog.

Each tool answers one question. That's how I think about your store too.

Telford: does it hold?

Named after Thomas Telford, the engineer this town is named after. His bridges still stand because the engineering came first.

Telford is the structural audit. It screenshots your site every 50 pixels from phone width to a wide desktop, finds the exact widths where the layout breaks, and names the element that breaks it. It runs before anyone gives an opinion about design.

Euler: is the web well woven?

Leonhard Euler founded graph theory by asking whether you could cross all seven bridges of Königsberg once. A website is the same problem: pages and the links between them.

Euler checks that every link reaches a real destination, internal and external, and that your pages are linked in a way that passes authority to the ones that sell.

Kepler: where do you actually rank?

Johannes Kepler threw out his own model of the planets because the observations didn't fit by eight minutes of arc. The observation won.

Kepler starts from what Google Search Console records for your site: the searches you appear for, where you sit and how often you're clicked. Any ranking figure I quote you is reconciled against that. Where they disagree, I report the real number, not the flattering one.

Mercator: can buyers find you?

On Google, in the business directories and in the AI answer engines. Mercator asks Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity about your market and records whether you appear. It names the one engine it can't reach, Copilot, rather than counting it as a no.

Columbo: does the tracking actually work?

Every channel, end to end. If a sale happens and Google Ads, Analytics or Merchant Centre never hears about it, your advertising is flying blind. Columbo finds where the signal drops.

Vanderpump: is your Shopping channel working?

Shopify to Merchant Centre to Google Ads to the product carousel. One broken link in that chain and your products quietly stop showing.

Meaden: what is your ad money buying?

A paid-search audit: what the budget bought, what it is bidding on, and what it should stop bidding on.

Manet and Draper: does it live, and will it convert?

Manet reviews visual identity, so your store doesn't look like every other template. Draper reads each page for one question: will this page convert?

What runs behind them

The tools above are the ones you see in a report. Behind them sits a standing watch I also built: sentinels that check every site I look after for silent failures, such as forms that stopped submitting, sitemaps that drifted, domains whose email stopped delivering and deploys that never went live. Nobody notices those until a customer does.

Get in touch and I'll run the kit on your store.
